There are approximately 500 children ‘in need of sponsorship’ in Modern Primary and Nursery schools and of these about 330 are currently sponsored. Some are double orphans (both parents have died) some single orphans (only one parent left) and some have parents but are very poor and needy.
Sponsorship money is put into a ‘pot’ that covers all the children on the sponsorship scheme. The money you give does not go to your individual child but is shared by all the children, whether they are already sponsored or still waiting for a sponsor.
You will also receive letters from your child during the year.
There are different ways of sponsoring. You can sponsor:
- As an individual or couple
- As a family
- As a group (e.g. playgroup, coffee circle, church)
It costs £20.00 per month to sponsor a child in the Primary or Nursery School. It is also possible to sponsor a teacher at the school at a cost of £100.00 per month.
