Find a way of giving that suits you.

Sponsor a Child in Uganda, Donate or Fundraise.

There’s more than one way to support children at Rukungiri Modern Primary School. You can sponsor a child for £25 a month and receive letters from them throughout the year, organise a fundraiser, leave a gift in your will, visit Uganda, or share what we do.

Sponsor or donate

Sponsor a child for £25 a month and get to know them through their letters sent to you. Or make a one-off gift to the school's current projects. Either way, it goes directly to Rukungiri.

Fundraise

Walk, cycle, bake, climb, auction, quiz — or something no one has thought of yet. People have raised thousands with very little except a good idea and the willingness to try.

Leave a legacy

A gift in your will — of any size — is one of the most meaningful things you can do for the long-term future of this school and the children who will be there long into the future.

Two Ways to Give: Donate or Sponsor a Child.

You can support the school with a one-off donation or sponsor a child. Find out more about both options on the links below.

Donate to Rukungiri Modern Primary School

A one-off gift to the school.

ROP is run entirely by volunteers. No trustee is paid. Every pound you give goes to Rukungiri — to the children, the buildings, the projects that are waiting to happen.

A real relationship.

You’ll be paired with a child at the school. Your sponsorship helps cover their school fees, meals, uniform, stationery and other essentials. You’ll also receive letters from them with news about life at school.

UK Supporter Groups Helping Rukungiri

Across the UK, groups of sponsors and supporters have come together to do more than they could individually — fundraising, coordinating sponsor letters, visiting Uganda, and in one case, building the charity itself.

Abergavenny, wales

The group that established the charity.

A dedicated group of supporters in Abergavenny established Rukungiri Orphan Partnership as a UK charity and continue to fundraise through regular community events. They didn't just support what existed. They built it.

Woking, Surrey

A youth group that came home different.

A local church organised and funded a trip for their youth group to visit Rukungiri. Young people who went as visitors returned as advocates. That is what direct experience does.

South London

A church raised money and flew to Uganda.

A church community raised funds and sent a team to Rukungiri to use the money directly on behalf of the children, ensuring it made an immediate difference.

St. john's, Welling

Multiple years of showing up, including in person.

Members of St John's funded the 2024 school party and then sent nine people to Rukungiri in February 2025 — three of them under 21. They painted, taught, cooked, and spent three weeks with the children. Their support has been consistent, practical, and personal.

Gifts in Wills to Rukungiri Orphan Partnership.

Leaving a gift in your will is one of the most powerful ways to support the school and the children in the years ahead, ensuring that your compassion lives on.

If you've decided to include ROP in your will — or you're thinking about it and have questions email us at contact@rop.uk.net — no obligation, just a conversation.

Wording your will

To include Rukungiri Orphan Partnership in your will, you may wish to use the following wording:

“I give to Rukungiri Orphan Partnership (Registered Charity Number: 1117854), of 13 Sundridge Avenue, Welling, Kent, DA16 2SR, [Insert percentage]% of the residue of my estate / the sum of £ [Insert Amount] / [Insert Item], to be used for its general charitable purposes. I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executors.”

We recommend speaking to a solicitor or professional adviser to ensure your will is valid and reflects your wishes clearly.

Types of Legacy

Residuary - A percentage of your estate after other gifts and expenses. Flexible, and adjusts naturally with the value of your estate over time.

Pecuniary - A fixed sum of money. Simple and certain — for you and for us.

Specific - A particular item — property, shares, personal possessions. Less common, but sometimes the most personally significant.

There is no wrong way to help.

A sponsored walk, a coffee morning, a monthly standing order, a legacy, all of it reaches Rukungiri. From a coffee morning in Nottinghamshire to a youth group in Surrey to a woman walking laps of her church. Every bit counts.
