Q1. Will I receive updates about my sponsored child?

Yes. You will receive a letter from your sponsored child twice a year, along with an annual newsletter to keep you informed about wider developments at the school and within the charity.

Yes — your child would love to hear from you. If writing a full letter feels a bit daunting, a card or postcard (sent in an envelope) is also a lovely way to connect. You might like to include a photograph of yourself and a few words about who you are and your job or hobbies.
Please send any letters to the school address at the top of the letter you receive from your child, and include the child’s full name and class number followed by the address.

While we can’t accept physical parcels in the post due to customs restrictions, you’re very welcome to send cards or letters — just please don’t enclose any money inside. If you’d like to give a gift, the best way is to make a donation via the charity’s bank account and let us know which child it’s for. Q10. Can I support in other ways — such as one-off donations or projects — instead of, or in addition to, sponsoring a child?

Absolutely — one-off donations are always appreciated and make a real difference. We also regularly fundraise for specific school projects. You can explore these on our Donations and News pages.

Q11. Can I leave a gift to ROP in my will?

Yes — leaving a legacy is a powerful and lasting way to support our work. You can find more details on our Get Invloved page.

If Your Situation Changes

Q12. What happens if my circumstances change and I am no longer able to continue with full sponsorship?

We understand that life happens and circumstances can shift. If you need to pause your sponsorship for a while, please get in touch — we’ll do our best to support you to stay connected in a way that works for you. As the monthly sponsorship covers the full cost of your child’s place at the school, we’re unable to reduce that amount. However, there are still meaningful ways to stay involved such as making occasional contributions to one of our school projects or inviting a friend or family member to co-sponsor a child with you. We’d be happy to explore any of these options with you. If you do need to stop altogether, we simply ask that you let us know so we can aim to find a new sponsor to support the child without interruption.

Q13. What happens if I die — will my sponsored child still be supported?

We acknowledge this can be a sensitive topic, and it’s an important question to ask. In this situation, we will make every effort to find another sponsor so that the child continues receiving support without interruption. You may also wish to consider longer-term arrangements. You can find more details on our Get Involved page.
